I hold honesty in high regard; I do not like liars. But I believe that certain people in both my past and possibly also the present day might have told certain lies, as well as certain grossly exaggerated truths about me.

The subjects of such lies might include:

1. My sexual preferences. Although I might have been fondled and in turn fondled a man twelve years older than I was when I was but twelve years old myself, I swear that I am a heterosexual. My lack of sexual promiscuity does not mean otherwise. I avoid loose sex mostly only because I prefer to avoid catching a sexually transmitted disease and also because I prefer not to have sexual intercourse with a woman who might be disloyal.

Such above mentioned fondling never entailed either of Fernando “Nene” Sandoval or myself having taken any of our clothes off at all, and as such, should perhaps not be regarded as petting. I swear that I did absolutely nothing else with Nene, including but not limited to kissing him anywhere, taking part in oral sex as either giver or taker, or taking part in anal sex also as either giver or taker.

2. Selling drugs, drug purchases, use of illicit drugs, except as mentioned within my post in this newsgroup entitled “Of invasion of privacy, benefit of the doubt, and possible racism”.

3. Inclinations toward violence. I was busted by a school authority for only two altercations, one when I was in about the second or third grade and again when I was in about the fourth grade. But I was simply “playing rough” at the time, which did not lead to my being suspended from school, expelled, or in any other way having been punished, other than having my parents notified and on the latter of those two such occasions, being accosted by the principal of the school where such took place.

Playing rough as I did was not so out of the milieu in both such California schools at that time. It was not serious; there was no bleeding or scrapes of any kind that I know of.

During my entire life as an adult later on, I was only in a fight one single time, at the age of about twenty-two. It was not a long fight, I got my ass whooped, and there were no arrest made (such happened indoor of a private dwelling). On a separate occasion not very long after that, the same individual that I had fought with sucker punched me in the face and broke my nose. I swear that it was not a fight, I did nothing physical to provoke that, other than having argued with the assailant’s mother-in-law on the phone about an hour before that, having called her a “bitch”.

I did not ever, when employed as a security guard as a very young adult, before the above mentioned fight with Ruben Blanco, ever manhandle, mace spray, kill, arrest, or otherwise harm anyone. I am a pacifist, not suited to such labor. I only stayed at that job for a total of about six months, never having owned a firearm in either that job or in my private life. If Michael Fiacnik has ever claimed that I owned or carried a firearm or any other weapon to work at about that time but in a quite different workplace, then I swear that he is a liar.

4. Telling lies. I have never been inclined to telling lies of a malicious nature. But it was not until about my mid to late twenties of age that I knew that what might be the proper interpretation of the eight commandment means that one should not tell lies. I am learning to be more honest, even as I grow older. Most of my lies before that have mostly been cognitive slips, in which I might have misrepresented a foggy memory of a factoid as being clear and correct when it was not necessarily.

5. Other sins. Although I am not perfect and might occasionally sin, especially “venially”, I do not consider myself to be evil. I distinguish between sin and evil in my private, non-ecclesiastical theology, which is not necessarily in perfect conformity with Roman Catholic teaching.

Goodness matters.

One more thing: I am NOT a thief. I have never stolen a single thing in my younger years as a boy, although I did use to borrow my brother’s Loc Blocs in about my early teens without always remembering to get his permission.

As a very young adult, I did steal a total of four items of relatively small merchandise (A cheap pair of black sweat pants, a greeting card and its envelope, a spool of fishing line, and a non-digital kitchen timer) on three separate occasions from two stores. It was a rude experiment on my part. Fortunately enough, I did not seem to have gotten caught for what could have been a crime of shoplifting.

I have never stolen anything at all during the rest of my adulthood either. I have never, for instance, ever stolen money from the Knights of Columbus during any of their functions nor from Saint Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church during their offertory pick-up.

If Brian, a manager at a past place of employment “The Graduate Restaurant”, has made claims that I stole or tried to steal some cash, then I swear that he is a liar. If Darci Wenner, a student at a school that I one attended, claims that she actually saw me steal a magnifying loop (the one that I used I had purchased myself) or any other items in the graphic communication department’s photography lab, then she is likewise a liar.

Certain citizens of the United States, which I myself am, can be uncivilly racist and in my opinion, sometimes dishonest. I am not a robot ticker tape of the truth. But I am not often a liar nor a racist. (I am even honest enough to say "not often a liar". I do not always believe in absolute perfection anyway. Trying in earnest not to tell lies often works well enough for me.)

Dios mira.
